Dancing In The Rain

Dancing In The Rain

The morning was very busy clinic. Around 9:30 a-70-old man came to open the stitches on the wound in the mother's finger. I prepare the file and asked him to wait, because all the doctors are busy, maybe he just could have been treated at least 1 hour.

While waiting, the old man seemed nervous, intermittently glancing at his watch. I feel sorry for. So when I'm free to check wound, and it seems quite good and dry, stay open stitches and put a new bandage. Work that is not too difficult, so the approval of a doctor, I decided to do it myself.

While handling the wound, I asked if he had another appointment to look in a hurry.

The old man said no, he's going to a nursing home until lunch with his wife, as he did every day. He told me that his wife was treated therefor some time and his wife suffered from Alzheimer's disease.

Then I asked he if his wife would be angry if he came too late.

He replied that she was no longer able to recognize it since the last 5 years.

I was very surprised and said, "And you still go there every day even if your wife does not know anymore?"

He smiled as his hand patted my hand, saying, "She did not recognize me, but I still recognize her, Right?"

I hold back tears until he was gone, my hands still shiver, "Love you like that's what I want in my life."

True love is not physical or romantic. True love is accepting what is happening there today, that has happened, what will happen, and that will never happen.

These experiences give me an important message: The happiest people aren't necessarily have the best of everything, they just do the best with what they have.

"Life is not a struggle against the storm, but how to keep dancing in the rain."
